Volunteering
Get involved in your regional art museum! Like many regional and metropolitan galleries and museums, Shepparton Art Museum would like to encourage members of our local community to become volunteer tour guides. If you have a strong or keen interest in the arts or arts education and would like to contribute some of your free time we would love to hear from you.
The museum offers volunteer induction and training sessions throughout the year, giving participants the opportunity to learn about the SAM's unique collection of Australian ceramics, paintings and works on paper. Participants in this course are given resources and training to enable them to guide groups though traveling exhibitions, the permanent collection and upcoming exhibitions with confidence. It is anticipated that volunteers would be required to conduct at least one tour on a monthly basis depending on public demand.
Contact Rhonda Chrisanthou or Angie Russi to register your interest, (03) 5832 9520.
Exhibiting at Shepparton Art Museum
The Shepparton Art Museum runs a community exhibition space throughout the foyer of the Eastbank Centre. The purpose of this space is to encourage, stimulate and promote local and regional cultural activities through an active and diverse exhibition program. The Eastbank Foyer spans approximately 90 running metres of hanging space and is wonderful area for community, schools and local art groups and artists to display their work. These spaces are programmed up to 18 months in advance.
